Cambridge Resources

Cambridge is rich in resources for the study of Buddhism. It has had a long connection with Buddhist studies including people such as Daniel Wright (1833-1902), Edward Byles Cowell (1826-1903), Cecil Bendall (1856-1906), Sir J.G. Scott (1851-1935), Louis de la Vallée Poussin (1869-1938), L.A. Waddell (1854-1938), W.H.D. Rouse (1863-1950), E.J. Thomas (1869-1958), Sir Harold Bailey (1899-1996) and many others.

Cambridge University Library, the main university library, is an important resource for any aspect of Buddhist studies but bear in mind the many libraries in colleges, faculties, institutes and museums. Many institutions both within the University of Cambridge and outside of it are in the Catalogue.  A small sample of possible sources below should give a taste of what is available.
